Whenever I pick up a paintbrush, it's like opening a door to myself. Through art, I’ve found a safe and honest way to express what I’m feeling—especially the things I can’t always say out loud. The simple act of creating gives me a sense of calm.
Painting has helped me process emotions that are difficult to express. It grounds me in the moment, keeping my mind focused and present—something I struggle with in everyday life due to my mental illness Borderline Personality Disorder. When I step back and look at something I’ve created, no matter how simple or messy it may be, I feel a quiet pride. It boosts my mood, lifts my confidence, and reminds me that I’m capable of creating something meaningful.
